Choral director

I have been lucky to gain a wealth of experience within the rich diversity of the English choral tradition directing choral societies, church choirs, etc.

In addition to standard works of the choral repertoire I have conducted performances of several of the larger scale works, both with orchestral and keyboard accompaniment, for example Haydn's The Creation, Handel's Messiah, Brahms' German Requiem, Fauré's Requiem, etc., as well as the core works of the western liturgical tradition.

I was conductor of the City of Birmingham contribution to the inaugural nationwide 'Voices for Hospices' scheme, with a performance of 'The Creation' involving a choir of 200 and an invited orchestra of professional players in the Great Hall of Birmingham University.

During my time as Assistant Regional Director for the RSCM  I led "Three Day Courses", the popular RSCM offering for choristers taking place over three days in various parts of the UK, and directed choirs for area festivals and "Singthrough" evenings in several dioceses.

I have worked as director with such groups as the Winsford Choral Society, the Simeon Singers, the All Saints' Chamber Choir (Birmingham), the Newman Singers, and others, as well as forming and directing my own ensembles.

I'm available for coaching of vocal ensembles, for concert direction, and to coach choral directors in conducting technique.
